IKWRO provides bespoke training sessions which are tailored to the needs of your organisation, on the harmful practices of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage, child marriage, female genital mutilation and domestic abuse. This training is suitable for all professionals working with clients who may be at risk of harmful practices.
An outline of our training courses:
Definitions of harmful practices, the different types of abuse that fall within these, why harmful practices happen, case studies, films, legislation, best practice including dos and don’ts, warning signs, support available and making effective referrals.
By the end of the training sessions professionals will:
- Have an increased understanding of harmful practices
- Be able to identify the signs and symptoms of harmful practices
- Be more confident in responding to cases of harmful practices
- Have an increased knowledge of best practice
- Have an increased knowledge of support available in responding to cases of harmful practices
