True Honour Awards

We are pleased to inform you that nominations are open for our third True Honour Awards. This year the awards will be held on 24th January 2014 in memory of Banaz Mahmod who was murdered in an ‘honour’ killing.

IKWRO will present a True Honour Award to a person or organisation that has taken a stand against ‘honour’ based violence, whether in their personal lives or in their work.  By recognising and publicising their outstanding courage and commitment, we hope that we can inspire others to act.

You can nominate a person, organisation or group for the award by completing this form [Word Doc] and emailing it to events@ikwro.org.uk. The only criteria is that they have made a contribution to the fight against ‘honour’ based violence in the UK. The deadline for submitting the nomination form is 5pm on Friday 6th December 2013.

If your nominee is shortlisted you will both be invited to a gala awards ceremony in London on 24th January 2014 where we will announce the award winner.

Our judging panel is looking forward to receiving your nomination!

Thank you to those who have contributed to the True Honour Awards since they began three years ago. If you would like to support the awards, please donate through this website or contact us to discuss how you could help.
