IKWRO’s Director Diana Nammi regularly acts as a media spokeswoman and has been interviewed for television, radio, print and online media. Diana is able to give interviews and comment in English, Farsi and Kurdish on the following issues:
- ‘Honour’ based violence
- Forced marriage
- Female genital mutilation
- Domestic violence
- Sharia Law in the UK
- No recourse to public funds
- Asylum and immigration policy
- The rights of women from ethnic minorities
For urgent media enquiries, you can contact Diana on +44 0786 273 3511 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Where Diana is not available, our Campaigns Officer and other staff are often able to brief journalists or to provide media comment on behalf of IKWRO.
Occasionally we are also able to link journalists up with women and girls who have been directly affected by ‘honour’ based violence, forced marriage and other forms of abuse. We will only agree to this where it is in the individual woman’s best interests and where anonymity can be guaranteed.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide interviews to student journalists for university assignments, because of our limited staff capacity and the very large number of requests that we receive.
For media enquiries please telephone us on 0207 920 6460. If you would like to be added to our media contacts list, to receive press releases and news updates, please email email@example.com.
